I have a series link set up for You've Been Framed. It's set to record new and reruns - however it didn't pick up Totally You've Been Framed which was on ITV1 this afternoon at 2pm

That's because the title was different so Tivo sees it as a different programme. Of course it shouldn't be, but I'm only explaining why it didn't record. Try a Wishlist for the same show as that should record all variations.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

Curiously, the V+ used to record both under the same series link. Can they not be 'linked' at the other end?

If the criteria for series link programme titles was as broad as you suggest you would end up with all sorts of garbage that had a similar title!

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

Well I presumed series links were part of the guide data? Well at least that's how it used to work on V+. Therefore, if it is the same for TiVo, surely the data can be edited to acknowledge they are one in the same? Or is each individual box doing the hard work?

But the two programmes in question are not exactly the same Bob!

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

I'm just curious as to why they are flagged differently on the V+ to the TiVo. And whether it is intentional or a mistake. If it's the former, I'll have to set up a wishlist.

I doubt I'll be the only person who will be querying why it didn't record. But at least I have this forum to find out

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

The epg data for TiVo and V+ aree supplied by different companies I think. So they are programmed seperatly.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

Yeah they are definitely from different companies.

More than anything I was wondering if I was making a reasonable demand of TiVo

V+ was good on that. I used to find that if BBC4 ran a series of programmes on, say, Bruce Springsteen, they would series link all the relevant programmes, even though they were different titles.

I suspect that tivo won't do that?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

My Wishlist for 'Title: "Doctor Who"' (non-auto-record) also catches "Doctor Who Confidential" despite their being two different, but associated, programmes.

This would also work for "You've Been Framed"; with the added advantage (?) of it picking up showings on any channel

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

Bedlam on History Channel at 8pm tonight.

On Tivo the episode details list it as the SkyLiving version with Will Young listed as cast. I did think how odd for History to show this but set a series link as my son likes it and Bedlam has been taken off OnDemand.
But guess what... I go to my V+ to record it on there too and Bedlam is listed as:

Leading psychiatric historians reveal the incredible history of Bethlem Royal Hospital in London, which became notorious in the 1600s for its cruelty and inhumane treatment of patients.

Why are the two different and why do I pay an extra £3 a month for this disappointing service. Getting really sick of Tivo now, just feel like I wasted my money.
Is it to late to send it back?
