Deleting Recordings

A known glitch on the V+ box meant that if you deleted a previously made recording whilst recording another, the name of the original recording would remain forever in the list of recorded programmes. This phantom recording would take up no space on the hard drive but it was annoying that you could not get rid of the reference to it.

My question is therefore: does this same problem occur on Tivo, I dont want to experiment myself if anyone has a definative answer.

Re: Deleting Recordings

There is a folder on TiVo for recently deleted programmes. I've just checked mine and everything I have deleted since install (which was last Monday) is still there. You can permanently delete each programme if you wish, and when you try to a screen shows that states you can leave it in situ as the TiVo will automatically delete it if the space is needed. The usage indicator in My Shows only reflects what you have recorded and what you haven't deleted. It doesn't include Suggestions.

When I have deleted stuff on the TIVO it goes in to a box saying Recently deleted? Then when to go in to that folder you can recover the show delete. And i have had no shows come back or stay?

Re: Deleting Recordings

I don't think there is a quicker way, other than leave them there to be deleted automatically.

The TiVo and V+ application software was written separately by different teams of people, so it's unlikely they will have the same bugs. Some of the internal software is the same but tends to be reliable.
