Remote Record Scheduling problem

First, as this is my first post on the forum, hi everyone!

I'm getting to grips with my Tivo, installed Thursday, but stuck on trying to schedule programmes remotely. From inside the house on my computer, going via TV Guide it works OK but this isn't much use, it needs to work from outside.

I successfully sign in to the mobile TV guide via my phone but get the response, "Looks like you don't have an active Tivo box" when I navigate to a program to record. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be and how to fix?

Re: Tivo Remote Scheduling problem

Same here I can do it with the "ordinary" web site, but it doesn't work with the mobile version and get the "Looks like you don't have a TiVo" even when I sign in and it correctly tells me my TV package.

There also seems to be no way to log out of the mobile version of my Virgin media, it seems to be broken/unfinished.

Re: Tivo Remote Scheduling problem

If you have a jailbroken iphone there is a program that fools the phone into thinking its in the internet on a desktop PC, therefore you go to the normal site, not the mobile one. I have it on my phone and it does work. I will post back with the name of it.

Re: Remote Record Scheduling problem

Remote record doesn't work for me on the main website - says I haven't got a Tivo box (it was installed two days ago). However, there is ticket open for my area covering broadband and tv - maybe that has something to do with it. My box is still 'staging' in the system info page, so maybe it isn't fully recognised on all VM's systems.

Re: Remote Record Scheduling problem

Quick question on this, if I sign into the website http://tv.virginmedia.com/vtvapp/epg.do with MyVirginMedia username and password I won't remote record any programmes I try to. But if I do it with my partners username and password then it works.

She is the main account holder so am assuming that is why it works that way. Any plans to allow secondary account holders to have access to remote recording?

If your partner is the main account holder for the TV side and the TIVO is in her name it will need to be her account email and password.

Re: Remote Record Scheduling problem

Yeah it is, but obviously that isn't an ideal scenario say for shared houses.. there should be an option in her MyVirginMedia to allow other secondary a/c holders to remote record.. otherwise its only suitable for 1 person

I don't get it; she's your partner, you share the same Tivo; why not just use her log in details? You obviously know them.

RR works for me, now. Box was re-booted by second line support on Sunday, to sort out a problem I was having with my Sky channels and it fixed my problem - box is no longer staging.

Re: Remote Record Scheduling problem

Remote record from a PC works for me, but it sets the recording on the bedroom Tivo, and I'd like it on the one in the lounge.

Is it just a case of ringing VM to ask them to change it? if so, should I ring 150 or 151?

Thanks

Thats all very well if you want and are comfortable sharing account information.

However some people ie students, flat shares etc might not be so happy at doing that.

It wouldn't take much to allow the primary account holder to grant permission to any secondary account holders to allow remote recording
