Yeah, I've noticed that you have to go out of your way to get HD content when searching for shows. Needs to always try and gather HD content with wish lists instead of settling for SD, Or make it configurable even better.

So you're recording and watching something on a delay and you press the "stop" button. How does it decide if you want to stop playback or the recording? No. To stop a recording, press the record button again. Far more logical. IMO, of course.

Show viewed status of a recording like V+ e.g. recorded, viewed, partial viewed.
Personally, I hated that about the V+

Erm.. no you don't. Assuming you're in 'planned recordings' press "clear" on the recording you want to cancel and confirm.

Priorities for me would be, as already mentioned....
* All UI screens in HD
* Ability to disable PIN

Re: What we would like in the next Tivo update.

Just though of another feature I would find usefull --- the ability to sort 'My Planned Recordings' by date (as it is now) or Show Title. A coloured button choice to toggle between the two would be good.

I'm pretty sure when they say "recording" they mean "recorded programme", not "in-progress recording".

Personally, I hated that about the V+

Was referring to a programme previously recorded that you watch later, stop should mean stop when watching!

Those V+ information details are essential for my house hold when we build up a high number of recorded programmes, so disagree I have to say.

Re: What we would like in the next Tivo update.

Skyhd`s epg shows a different colour for programs that are in filmed in hd rather than sd versions upscalled,That would be nice for tivo to do the same

Because I already knew what I'd watched and what I hadn't. Seemed pointless to me. Just my opinion. Others are welcome to theirs

Right. Okay. Well, pressing STOP does stop playback so where's the problem?

Again, a fair point. I live on my own so don't have any such problems.

Pressing stop does not stop on mine, others have posted the same.

4 people in a house makes you realise why it is good to know the view status of a recording

The problem is....no, it doesn't.

Oh, and filtering Wishlists to favourites channels is a must.

It doesn't for me either, but I can't rule out that it works for some people. I've seen at least two posters say it does.

As an option maybe, but their ability to find good things on "channels I'd never watch" are one of the main benefits of Wishlists for me.

Maybe some people are on a slightly different software then? So far, to stop watching a recording, I've had to press 'TV'. 'Stop' hasn't worked for me so far.

Same here, but I've read about people setting up Wishlists to find categories (say, Sci-Fi) and then getting results/recordings from kids channels, radio channels etc.

This is OK for TiVo Premiere since that has the option to remove unwanted/unwatched channels from the EPG, but VM TiVo doesn't have that option, due to contractual obligations with the broadcasters (or so I read over at TCF). Someone then suggested a workaround would be an option to filter Wishlist search results to favourite channels.

Here's the thread at TCF:

Why would you assume I'm in planned recordings when I've stated from the EPG?

I obviously mean from the actual tv guide, not some random screen deep in the menu system that you've arbitrarily decided to place me in.

So yes, you do. From the tv guide you cannot cancel a recording without going through several screens which will kick you out to an SD screen, whereas on the V+ you could toggle it instantly. It's annoying.

Because, from there, it's two button presses which, IIRC, is the same as the V+; which is what you compared it to.

Quote:

Well, like I said, it was a relevant comparison as that is the quickest and easiest way to delete upcoming recording.

Actually, I agree with this. It would be useful. But then, if I wanted to delete an upcoming recording I wouldn't really use the EPG as using the "upcoming recordings" screen is both more obvious, easier and quicker.

Re: What we would like in the next Tivo update.

It's not a relevant comparison when to get to said screen you have to go through 2 or 3 others? You can't just pretend you're starting off on a screen that's already a few levels deep in the menus to make the comparison so as you can save a few button presses

I'd also disagree with easier and quicker as well when the epg is 1 button press away (guide) whereas planned recordings is... lots of button presses away. Plus most the time I want to cancel a recording it's because I'm watching it so I'll be going to the channel anyway (or it's because I've accidentally hit the wrong thing!)
