but i also agree that the lights are too bright. It didnt bother me as the hub was downstairs, but if i looked down the stairs, the hub lit up the whole hall. As i said, there is options to change the lights in the hub, as was seen when SSH was allowed. the lights are for nothing apart from indicating whats on/off/locked, and if data is being transferred, they dont need to be so bright

I cant answer you fully, but have you always noticed the light flashing, maybe you didnt notice it before?. do you have anything wired to the hub via ethernet, even if the device is off the NIC transfers some data which the superhub may be seeing as wan traffic (somehow?) The hub communicated with the network for the whole time it is connected, and it might be doing more than it used to with the recent firmware update, which did add something where there was a bug when the user was connected to a motorola BSR and they didnt get full upload speeds, so they may have added a patch which communicates data. the hub also downloads other things like the firmware, which will cause the light to flash.

again, i dont know exactly what has caused it to start flashing, but really, it doesnt matter, and as has been mentioned, if its bothering you, put some black electrical tape over it.

it doesn't bother me just would like to know why it has started flashing continually, when it used to flash occasionally. wireless is switched off so there is no reason for it to flash continually only occasionally.

As Masque posted in this thread on the 22nd March
Quote:
The Top Blue light is the Traffic/Throughput light and will flash as per the receive and send lights on an Ambit 256.

The middle light is the Ready light which indicates the modem is online once lit solid.

The bottom light is the wireless light which flashes whenever a wireless device accesses the internet via wifi and is green in 2.4ghz mode or blue in 5ghz mode.

Re: flashing traffic light

It took me a while to work out why my blue light constantly flashed even when the PC was turned off as well as wireless, then i remembered about the 'thinkbroadband' monitor i had running, once disabled it stopped flashing.

No it's on the website and you have to click disable on the website to stop it pinging your IP.
