I understand under the terms its a 'new 12month contract' with a new product. But surely they should just match what youve already got....

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Phewwwww, epic phone call even by virgins standards!!! 1hr and 25 minutes!!!!!
But I think it is finally sorted!!! Install next Thursday, and the problem was? All i wanted to do was to downgrade my BB from 50 to 30 and to then keep the 2 boxes I already have and have the Tivo as a 3rd, but also wanted to swap the V box to a V HD box, which I hoped they would do free!!!!
Offshore call ctr could not do the downgrade, Grrrrr, had to call CS first to get this done, then call back to order Tivo!!!! Trying to get them to do the free HD box was a nightmare!! They agreed to call CS on my behalf to get cost refunded, but when I asked for them to put this in writing in an email they refused (I have played this game with them before, so always get a confirmation email from them if I can now), after lots of "discussion" and being told no managers were avliable as asked for an email with the managers names on it, this was also refused!!!!!!
So I asked for a recording of the call!!!! When I asked for this suddenly they were able to credit my account with the cost of the HD box upgrade!!!
Remains to be seen if it will all happen as it should!!!! Experience tells me it wont though!!

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Amazing the different experiences....
I called this lunchtime, got through to Manila, and when I explained that I wanted to order the TiVo box, swapping the V box for the TiVo and moving the V+ to where the current V box is, they asked if I would mind if they transferred me to a colleague.
I was then txfr'ed to a Scottish gentleman, to whom I explained what my requirements were, who said he was sorry, but he would have to txfr me to the TiVo team (who turned out to also be of the Scottish persuasion).
I took this guy through my requirements, explained my insistence on confirmation of no loss of discount (due to the previous Superhub misunderstanding), which he confirmed, giving me his name, and I went online and booked the upgrade.
He advised me when I got the confirmation email to ring back to confirm the V box swap out (better to be safe than sorry, he said), which I agreed to.
The whole process took about fifteen minutes, with very little stress.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
I lost my discount but I was expecting to. When I arranged the discount I was on VIP20 but think I basically came off it when they applied the discounts as they took away a few of the small bits like Talk International and Talk Mobile. So going to VIP 50 cost me an extra 56p than what my existing packing with Tivo would have cost.
So in all the discount worked out worse than the VIP50 package itself so there was no point me keeping it lol.

Thank's to all who have tried to help re my Tivo remote situation, e-mailed Neil Berkett last night.
8am e-mail reply saying his office was dealing with it, 1 hour later had a phone call from his office to say a manager on the Tivo team would be contacting me within the hour.
Phone call came within the hour, apologising for not already been installed and that by the end of today I would have an installation date.
By lunch time had an date of 28th April instal and my V+ box would be switched to my other room that has a Basic box.
Neil Berkett office rang back as well to check everything was sorted .

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
All you Virgin customers complaining about Tivo, and the way it has been rolled out. Should spare a thought for us non paying customers.
I've been stealing services since the days of analogue with a device attached to the Jerrod stb. What do the cable company do, switch to digital.
Now I have to buy another box off my supplier, this keeps going off and I have to pay him more money to get it working again. Then he tells me he can get me a box that automatically resets when they muck about with the encryption. Costs more money though. So I buy one of these.
What do Virgin do issue new cards and change to N3 new box won't work.
My canny supplier (who by now is now driving in a brand new Jag) tells me there is a new way to steal off Virgin, but I need to get a another box, more money This one wont do HD though so the 50" plasma I bought off a mate down the pub can't show off it's full potential to the lads when they come round to watch the footy.
Then I heard about Tivo. I asked my supplier when will this be available on the box I've just bought (which by the way has just gone off and my supplier doesn't know when it will be back on) he said never!
So Virgin media I've had enough you have lost a long time non paying customer. I'm off to card share on sky. My supplier says he has just the box I need for a small charge of course.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Well after yestarday's issue around mates rate discount - I received a phone call from CS stating I was mis-informed and that my mates rate discount will not be effected - she said that the sales teams have been informed of this and that any current discounts will be honored - she said all your doing is upgrading one of your boxes to a tivo box and extending your contract by another 12 months.
Based on this I have now ordered my TIVO box 18th April install and they also offered to have TIVO as main box and swap my VHD box with the V+ box upstairs for not extra cost and no extra monthly charge.
A cracking deal - I now have TIVO and a V+ Box for a 2nd box, can not waite for TIVO box.
Thanks for those who provided TIVO Spec details
