Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Still no email for me, the lady at the tivo dept said this aft that if I dont get an email tomorrow I have to wait until April 18th to ring and get one, by then installs are looking to be may!
I registered in December, got a 001 ticket and entered, then received a "sorry you have'nt won" and nothing since. No Dean email or any other. I emailed complaints, they had no record of me but promised me an email or call on the 11th as I still have the original emails sent to me.
The tivo lady said she'd spoke to someone in the same boat as me earlier today and cant undestand why after all this time my account is no longer pre registered?

You've presumably got an order number, so you should be OK in case of any query.
Interesting that the 'order date' seems to be the date that you preregistered, so it looks like they have gone through the list on a first come first served basis, which seems fair enough.
No 'secret code', presumably this is only for those who need to phone in their order rather than follow the link in the email?
|
I also ordered online and have not had an email. I think I have picked add tivo not replace my v+ so I called and was told it will take upto 24 hours for the order to go though from the online dept as the lady could not find my order even after I gave her my order number

Sounds like you entered the competition, not the pre reg list from what you are saying.

I had that as well, I tried to explain it to the woman, but she was struggling to deal with what she was doing. There seemed to be two states of being on hold one was working properly and this one wasn't and was gibberish and not very professional.
If anyone who deals with VM's internal helpdesk routing is reading you might want to look into it.
I can't be the only one who deliberately phones our own call centre numbers to make sure the IVR messages and routing works properly?

I registered for Tivo in December and then entered the "ticket" comp when it came through the post. Got the same emails as everyone else up to the "dean" ones which I didnt get and nothing since.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone in this country (UK) use that before (gotten). I'm originally Canadian and it's a very Canadian (probably small town Canadian) word which is used all the time.

Sorry my bad, so many posts on here !
You will still be able to take advantage of the discount though at least. Very strange though what's happened to you.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Can someone please confirm something with regards to the built-in modem in the TiVo?
Is this subject to VM traffic management policy? If you were streaming loads of content all day, would it choke up like your normal broadband connection would?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Did the online purchase from link in email and I was offered 23rd April earliest. That's interesting as someone said at 10am this morning that 23rd was the earliest online, so either the system doesn't get updated with used slots, or they have the capacity still.
Great news either way as I know have a lovely birthday present to look forward to. Ahh... patience is a lovely thing.

It has no traffic management and does not count towards your broadband usage, so no STM.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

i.e. what it can record at once whilst watching another channel etc etc

Nice one, DaBoz
Each area has it's own allocation of installs, so someone in another town getting the same dates won't affect you.

It can record three shows at once , while you watch a recording off your HDD.

I pre registered as soon as TiVo was announced, but still no email.
How long should I wait until I simply call CS and see what is going on?
