Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Not a complaint, just curious as to the procedure.
Ordered online and it said I would receive an e-mail to confirm my install dates. Should this have happened by now? As I expected an e-mail just to confirm I had put in a request for an install date.
Cheers

The box is expected to cost £49.95 up front, as per the current V+ HD set-top box, and there's an extra monthly fee for the Tivo functionality too. It's not yet clear whether buyers will also need to upgrade their broadband to the 50Mb/s package.
Surely the above is an error.

Only the bit about the upgrading to 50Mbit lol. That's never been a requirement. God knows where they got that from
P.S. you haven't this time

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Anybody.... Ive had the email: Q: How long will the option to phone and get it for £150 be for.
2: Would you keep the Cisco box as your second box. or the Samsung V+, reason i ask is one of the original features mentioned was the ability to stream recordings from the tivo to a V HD box, now this really appeals to me, but will this be possible with a V+?
Thanks.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
I current have a V+ box and V box in the 'other room'. Will i be able to upgrade to the Tivo and move the V+ box and swap it with the V box?
Also on the order page do i just 'upgrade' as i already have the extra room on the contract?
thanks

1. 30th April
2. Totally up to you... do you need a pvr in the second location? The Cisco box is likely to be TiVo'd at some point. The V+ box won't AFAIK

Upgrade, then once you have your confirmation, call 150 to put notes on your workorder about what you want swapping out.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Just wondering if any of the staff from Virgin would be so kind as to help me or look into my account.
I signed up to Tivo today for installation Monday afternoon and was told that I would still be paying the £3 fee even though im on VIP 50 and quoted the offer code, also he said as I am swapping my V+ box for the tivo it would actually cost me £7 a month more with discounts ....how can this be if it should only be the £149.99 I am paying?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Just trying to place my order via the 0800 number provided and while I am waiting for the nice Indian lady to sort out an install date I am getting a very strange recorded message it is saying "BT Talk Talk continue to hold" how strange - or is it me ?
edit - now been on waiting for this Indian lady for 21 minutes now...!!
2nd edit - all done took 24 minutes start to finish with an install date of 8 days - assuming they don't work weekends of course

Same here, put in the order, printed off the confirmation screen, but haven't yet got the email to confirm.
You've presumably got an order number, so you should be OK in case of any query.
Interesting that the 'order date' seems to be the date that you preregistered, so it looks like they have gone through the list on a first come first served basis, which seems fair enough.
No 'secret code', presumably this is only for those who need to phone in their order rather than follow the link in the email?

I think it's Manila, not India.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Just realised having put down the phone that the install date I have been given is for Friday 22nd April between 1pm and 6pm - but that date given is GOOD FRIDAY - do Virgin Media do installations on a Bank Holiday does anyone know ?

Yes. If it was on the system, then it's available.
