There's only 70% of that statement I agree with

I love the way you you use the phrase " so highly unlikely of missing much"
So close to "You'll never miss anything", which is what applies to Tivo whishlists.

|
All I can tell you is every show I've fancied watching is in the list of sky never miss that'll do for me , sit back an email the week before and one click and it's added and the same end result as wish lists. With this to come I'll be more than happy

VM are in 6 billion debt. They have set budgets each year and have to keep to them. When they say they have £200 million budget (or whatever it is) for new services each year including tivo and new channels, they mean it. They cannot just spend an extra half a billion in additional to their set budget for extra channels, because they're in too much debt.
Now we are in a new financial year, means a new budget, means more channel launches. But don't forget that unlike Sky, which has to except all new channels onto its platform, regardless of budgets, VM selects what channels it launches. Cable has always been like this and it always will. If you want the maximum amount of channels, then go to Sky.
Cable will never have the same line up as Sky.
|
I do, I really do, accept this. However, I also expect that Virgin Media will make up for lost channels with video on demand. I'm afraid that this is where they let us down.
Their limited budget needs to be concentrated on making up for lost channels via this medium.

Will SKY and Virgin always be in the middle of a PR war?

I don't see anything wrong in Sky promoting their channels. Are we being a tad over sensitive, do you think?

I may be missing your point but what's wrong with Sky funding the arts --- they need all the funding they can get.
VM were always going to get Sky arts 1 &2 in HD, so what's changed there?

I sincerely appologise if this comes accross as a little blunt, but in my view, anyone who thinks that the Sky's 'never miss' functionality is as good as Tivo's whishlists, either:
Doesn't understand whishlists
Or
Is completely biased towards Sky and not looking at things impartially.
Never miss may be 'good enough' for them, but it lacks in functionality compared to Wishlists.

I don't think I've ever stated it was , my point is Sky's Never Miss is a good service and with recommendations coming to the box an iPad/iPod , android , blackberry apps it seems Sky are listening to what customers want.

Maybe if this thread was renamed ' TV channels Coming soon to Virgin TV', then the discussion of other coming soon features would go away.
The new titled thread would currently be sadly lacking in posts though

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. II.
should that not be 'definitely coming soon. rather than 'pure speculation and rumours'.
Should save a few arguments.

I've just tried Never Miss, and I find your statement very hard to believe. It has hardly any coverage of non-Sky channels.
