I know, that was unfair of me.
I stand by the rest of my comments though!

I think talks broke down... it's probably why they never mention active talks in Press Releases anymore.

Eden HD is the better of the two anyway.

Agree, these should be the next priority targets for new HD channels and would be happy to see more SD new content channels as well, as HD (and preferred) is just a better way of seeing the same.

Now what I really want, is Sky News HD. When is that appearing? In another 12 months, perchance?

When Virgin sign the deal to sell their channels (Living and Bravo) to BSkyB - Sky Movies Classic HD, Sky News HD and Sky Sports News HD was not broadcasting.
They will not launch on Virgin unless BSkyB and Virgin sign an other deal.

Sky News HD was wasn't it?
It offically launched on 6 May which was Election Night, I thought the deal to sell VMtv was announced in June.
Nevertheless they have never said it was joining the lineup.

Mind you the negotiations must have took months to complete, we'll never know at what point they agreed to what HD channels VM would carry.
They have never mentioned it so perhaps the deal was agreed before it launched.
Who knows!

You might not care, but I do. I much prefer Sky News and it is my "default" channel. Sunrise with Eamonn Holmes, Afternoon Live with Kay Burley, Boulton and Co, Murnaghan etc.
I want the HD channel as it includes graphics suited to HD as well as side bar that includes more information (a sort of factoids of TV) about the story currently being aired, or things like the weather, stock exchange, etc.

Yes it was broadcaseting when the deal was announced. It's a channel I'd like to see added. It's a channel I often stick on to catch up on the news, and I really don't like having to watch SD
