They don't pay tax because of all the foreign aid the country gets.

Re: Cameron Pledges £650 million to Pakistan.

Some of you really do take the simplest view on things don't you lol we never give to a country without getting something of value back thats the whole purpose of international aid we feather our own nest whilst looking good. We do not know all the details of this yet but i am willing to bet large amounts of money that whatever amount we are giving them in the short term will be more then outdone by the amount we get back from them in the medium to longterm as has always been the way with UK foreign aid.

As for the whole NHS thing lol just lol countries with far better health systems can only dream of the sort of money we plough into our nhs the money is badly spent and misused on a massive scale it isn't that there isn't enough of it.

You are probably right but no one does anything about it.

Meanwhile the Fat Cats continue to get fatter while those in need of hip and knee ops have to endure the pain and wait patiently.

Re: Cameron Pledges £650 million to Pakistan.

Cuba for one off the top of my head i am sure other countries do better with less and there is no denial from anyone that much of the nhs budget is mispent on projects and other things that we are paying far more for then we need too. If the nhs were a private sector company (no i am not supporting the privatising of the nhs) they would not spend nearly as much as they do for some things and would get far better deals then currently for being a hell of a bulk buyer.

Same old story in the UK government spending on things is way higher then the comparable private sector company. Why the hell we don't have penalty clauses when we give out contracts rather then them going over budget and overtime all the time i will never know.

Either way foreign aid brings back more return to the UK then we ever spend on it and allows us to put UK companys at the head of the queue for contracts in those countries we give aid too we benefit massively from the program.

I think you'll find that facts prove otherwise.... Link

More beds, longer life expectancy, less heart attacks - must be a new definition of "way way way behind" I hadn't come across before....

Luckily I have never had need of a foreign countries health care system but after recently spending 7 weeks in a uk hospital I certainly do not feel like arguing with you.

I'll not go into details but for an example I spent time in 4 different wards and only spent time in one bed that wasn't broken in some respect.

That one good working bed was situated in a room that had some sort of a smelly drain problem that was never sorted.

No radio, no working TV, Nurse shortages every morning.

I would sooner keel over rather that have to endure Hospitalisation again.

I don't agree with that. I'd rather be in a UK hospital than any other hospital on the planet.

Didn't you know Mick? You don't need to let the facts get in the way if you fancy a good old fashioned anti-Tory rant.

That is one of the stupidest, most ill-thought out comments I've ever seen on CF in many years.

Perhaps you care to have an operation in some third world country? Or maybe try getting treatment for non life threatening illness in America without shelling out a fortune?

Seriously, you've been hospitalized in all those places? With your luck you maybe need to travel a little less.
