Over the coming few years, everyone will be moved to Tivo, so all will have the new interface.
The tivo software can't run on the V+ box.
Quote:
However, we intend to migrate our entire television customer base over to TiVo as our standard product within a matter of years, and not many years. That means, undoubtedly, we will course-correct, refine and review packaging and pricing decisions as we go to make that happen.”

Just added the quote by Cindy Rose from VM to my last post. She doesn't expand on how it will be done, but says it will.

I think we are talking about a process
1. V+ will not be available to new customers, only TiVo will be with a number of different models
2. eventually all replacement standard boxes will be replace with VHD boxes, through upgrades of service or faulty box replacement
3. Same as to 2 for V+ customers

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. II.
new channels would be nice ! also like the idea of everyone having tivo but i think that will be a long way off yet, i had a look at it the other day and i liked what isaw but as things the way they are money and jobs etc its the activation fee putting me off signing up for one.

This sounds viable and would be a very smart move.
Once customers are happy with content, "believe in better" will mean Virgin, rather than Sky

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. II.
Could VM add this to bolster its news offering
http://www.mediamughals.com/News/1/1...nd_Freesat.htm
Not a mass channel admittedly but an alternative news channel.
