Naked soldier smashes glass to stop Salford car thieves

A naked soldier stopped a robber from stealing his car in Salford by smashing the window with his bare hands.
L/Cpl Wayne O'Mahoney, 41, from Charlestown, chased after three masked men who broke into his house early on Saturday morning.
One of the robbers, who was armed with a knife, tried to drive off in his Seat Leon sports car but ran off after L/Cpl O'Mahoney punched through the glass.

One wonders what the odds are that this chap gets sued/charged for undue violence by the absconding thugs if they are caught.

Well I think what he did was perfectly 'natural' but there is always someone who will think he over reacted.Pursuing some thug out of your house into the street may possibly be regarded going beyond 'what is reasonable' in defending your property by some.

Probably won't prosecute him but no doubt counselling will be offered to the poor little louts for the trauma they suffered.

for cases like this I wish that the soldier had his personal weapons available.

I really think that the case of Tony Martin shouldnt have resulted in him being sentenced but should've been given a medal for taking out these social retrobates.

I grew up around there, knew his older brother. I've even had the experience of putting a fist through my car window to stop some **** taking off in it... I'd have succeeded in stopping him if it wasn't for the rest of his cowardly mob jumping on me and one of them stabbing me in the back of the arm.

When I gave a statement to the police, I told the officer that I had my hands around his throat (squeezing really hard!!) trying to get him out of the car until I was jumped, he said "It's best if I put down that you had him by the shirt". I knew what he was getting at.

They never found my computer and other PC gear, but they did find the car burned out just a few miles away in Salford 5, Ordsal.
