New On Demand XL and L sub menus?
I've noticed there's an extra sub menu under On Demand menu on V+. It just has two entries, XL and L.
I thought this was just a temporary glitch, but it's been there since last week.
Why is this category here now and is it likely to stay?

No it does say it and I am on XL and when i look at the L pack it says not subscribed on the programmes ( that is on the TIVO BOX? ). I think that it may be here to stay as for them on the L package may look at the XL choice and think that it is much better

yes it will stay.it just means tv choice on demand is availaible for L subscribers, before it was not.Obviously L subscribers might not be getting everything availaible to XL subscribers.

You think it would know which package you were on and offer you the on demand service you are subscribed to. Seems strange to offer the option of both when only one is accessible to any subscriber.

How entirely rubbish. And it would have been useful if VM had explained this, rather than let the user's puzzle over the new menus.
Roll on TiVo.

It's the same on Tivo, so the earlier post says. That seems a bit daft as all those customers must currently be on XL anyway.
For other boxes it makes sense, let them see what content they are missing on L.
I agree it's always better to explain things though, if indeed they didn't.

It makes no sense for me on XL on V+. I don't want to know what I would miss if I downgraded. Am I really going to browse into the L menu and compare the contents with what's in the XL menu, make a list of the things that are missing and then go "oh no, I'm going to miss all these programs"?!?!?
VM... this is absurd! It's extra remote button presses and pointless. Stop it now.

As an XL customer if you try and access the L menu it tells you you aren't subscribed. Very strange I think.

I understand why it dosen't make any sense to you but I bet it makes sense to VM.
I'm sure it's annoying too but I doubt the L and XL OD menus are going to change anytime soon.
At least L customers get some TVC content so think of them!!, seriously though perhaps it's a limitation of crappy liberate. I remember those stupid pop ups telling me about services I had subscribed to for ages.
I'm a bit surprised it occurs on Tivo as well though.

Re: New On Demand XL and L sub menus?
It's unfortunately the way the menus work, they aren't dynamic, however the content listings are
So the boxes have to show both L and XL
I'm sure if Virgin had the choice, it would only show the appropriate menu for the tier you are on

That makes no sense. If the content listings are dynamic, then it should work without the XL and L menus.
So did on demand only work for XL and above? Wow.

Re: New On Demand XL and L sub menus?
I can't see what the fuss is all about; just press XL if you're on XL and L if you're on L.
Hardly brain streching.

I'm puzzled by the complaint too.

It's only come up as a complaint in our household because we have a VHD box in the kids' room. He was attempting to get on to the on demand stuff but was getting confused. Not a major complaint really but it does seem a strange thing to have to do if everything else is dynamic.
