Total channels are now 374 so they have added one more?

Hidden 30 appears to be a data stream, it isn't a video stream like the 14 that popped up yesterday.
Perhaps it's the data information for SSP red button but it definitely isn't a video channel testing.

Either way more money coming out of the lower leagues and no doubt more financial problems for these teams.

Indeed but that's the economic situation we all find oursleves in.
I read the BBC confirmed they were unable to put together a competitive bid this time around, I have not read anything about ESPN bidding, or not for that matter.

I wonder how the BBC can complain of lack of funds. They take the same amount every year off each person who has a TV. Technically their "pot" shouldn't be suffering!

And probably a further downturn in people's interest of the Carling Cup now that none of it will be live on terrestrial TV.

They would say because the licence fee has been frozen and inflation is going through the roof.
And they (actually WE) have to pay for S4C and the World Service from the Licence Fee pot soon.
But I agree they are always crying poverty, I still like the beeb though but given the financial situation there's probably better things they could spend their money on than live football in my opinion but that's for another thread.
Hopefully they will get a highlights package though.

There are a couple of things at play here, one is inflation, things cost more and the second is the BBC Trust putting pressure on the BBC about just such spending.
Personally as I'm not very interested in football I for one don't mind that money going elsewhere but I can see if you are a football fan it's not good.
