Re: TiVo
I can't believe the £40 install charge, the worst I was expecting was £149 inc.
VM have dropped the ball unfortunately, they could have been aggressive with the pricing and sat back to watch TiVo fly off the shelves. Instead we get £190.

Re: TiVo
No email here yet despite preregistering
Not that I'd have taken this "offer" anyway, completely ridiculous to pay install as well as a £150 fee for a box you don't own.

Why do you say that? A Sky 1TB HD nox is £249 and Tivo has way more functionality. I don't understand your logic.

I will NOT be paying the best part of £200 when I have already paid for boxes I do not own. I should get the amount I've previously paid for 2 V+ boxes taken off that figure IMO.
When my contract is up in May they can offer me TiVo at a better price or I move to Sky for my tv and have a 1TB box that I own and can sell on when my contract expires.
Big fail IMO VM, £150 for XL customers and £100 for VIP's with no install would be far fairer and would see a bigger take up.
Disappointed with this shoddy offer from Virgin.

Why should you get money off. With VM your stb is covered for replacements if it ever breaks down, whereas after a year with Sky they would charge you for the visit and the cost of the repair or new STB.

The even funnier thing is ,some on here think Sky customers will switch in there droves because of TIVO at the price of 239 and 3.00 a month.

As much as we’d have loved you to win one, sadly you weren’t successful in securing a free TiVo box in our prize draw.
If you’d like to upgrade to our supercharged TV service, just sit tight. We're launching in April so we’ll be in touch in the coming weeks with an exclusive offer, just for our customers.
So what does that mean...

Probably means that like me your e-mail has not been sent yet. I didn't pre-reg but entered the raffle so guess we will be nearer the end of the e-mail list?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Sky's 1TB is flying off the shelves at that price either...... Instead people are happy to take the free option.

COULD would be more acceptable a word , the threat of leaving usually sorts this.

Just picked a copy up in the office.

But what does lower spec mean? Is it just a smaller hard drive, or are will some of the Tivo functionality be missing?

I had mine this morning but I have a Tivo I was one of the lucky 1000.

Why should you need to threaten to leave to get something for free??
