Re: Adverts on Music on Demand
Adverts are now employed on majority of videos in most watched and any videos published by universal music.

As a test, please try Browse All -> Artist -> D -> Daft Punk - Around The World. Does this have the advert for you?
What town are you in?

No, this didn't bring up an advert.
It does seem to happen on all new releases and all most watched. Always the same advert for The Social Network.
I am in Middlesbrough.
Thanks

Re: Adverts on Music on Demand
Let's hope this is not a sign of new things to come from VM. Adverts before or after every VOD program or music video is pointless to an audience made up 100% of paying customers (I'm referring to the XL customers only). Surely we've already paid for the VM content and VM should not be having to resort to advertiser payments to help subsidise what we watch. Or is it simply a way of making more money while also bothering the hell out of VM customers?

VM like feedback, so if you are unhappy about something, then you should use the feedback form on the website.
Go to My Virgin Media and there is a Contact Us section

I thought I'd try that. I didn't know which section should I use?
General Enquiry -Changing my package / Leaving Virgin Media / Unwanted, malicious or nuisance phone calls / My contract with Virgin Media / Street cabinets: report an open door/damaged cabinet / The Virgin Media network: plant enquiries, planning and construction
0r
Complaint - Faults / My installation / Customer service / My bill / Report an Internet security concern / Complaints Code of Practice
Oh well, it's a Complaint - Fault.

That's debatable. I've found that all of my recent feedback regarding Premier Sports have been completely ignored. Even the feedback were I've politely asked for a reply.
Why don't people stop watching music on demand for the month of April and submit feedback at the same time. A doubled pronged attack. If your feedback goes unanswered, the drop in viewing figures should send them a very clear message.
Cable TV is a luxury. The XL package is a premium product. Music on demand makes up part of the premium product. To me if you are accessing a music video through the service you should not be pestered by adverts. If this isn't an error then it's bad form by Virgin. Was any research conducted before the change was made to see how XL customers would feel about adverts being added to these videos or have Virgin just soldiered on regardless? I'd fully understand these adverts being added on lower tier packages but not XL.

Re: Adverts on Music on Demand
I was really loving the music on demand feature and the adverts before each 3min video is doing my head in.
I'm doubt I would ever show it off to friends as they would question why I'm paying for something that has adverts on it.
My PS3 has a similar service and not once have I been forced to watch a advert before each and every advert.
I don't mind adverts on other on demand content, but having them on the music video's is just overkill and ruins the entire music on demand service. I would sooner let Tivo buffer a music channel and fastforward through the adverts than bother with the advert ridden On demand offering.
Just found a old thread on the Virgin forum http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/...t/false#M20942 and back then it was claimed it shouldn't be happening on the music videos.
I hope this is a case and not Virgin trying to sneek the adverts back on again.

puts me off either, The Social Network is the sort of film I 'maybe' interested in watching when it's on for free. Constant adverts for it won't change my mind and make me pay for it.
How long before the filmflex movies start running 'trailers' before each film on demand purchase for the full 'cinema' experience

Re: Adverts on Music on Demand
Adverts spoil music on demand, especially as the same one is played over and over again.
I can justify it, if there was some way to show adverts after a certain number of plays, similar to how Spotify plays an advert after a few tracks.
I remember a while back adverts were placed on music on demand and had upset many customers; adverts were then removed.

They've already made their buck when they take XL customers monthly subscription. I'd understand the adverts if they were trying to subsidise the service so every single VM customer gets the Videos for free, but they don't.
Drop the adverts for XL customers. Drop the 20p charge for everyone else and keep the adverts in for M, M+ and L customers.
It's simply greed, nothing else. I've submitted my feedback advising I don't expect to be bombarded by adverts on any video content being an XL customer.
