Smart card invalid 3014
My TV service has been unchanged for months with a legal smart card and everything paid up to date.
Just now it's popped up an error message saying my card appears to be invalid so I may not be able to view all my channels.
Should I just try a reboot or has something happened that would need a call to base?

Try taking the card out and wiping the metal part on a non-static cloth, also try a re-boot and unplugging the box for 30 secs as well and if all this fails you will need to call in.
Hope this helps?
P.S have you received the new smart card yet that says pick me up, slot me in and watch me go?

Re: Smart card invalid 3014
Got a new card a few months ago so that shouldn't be the issue. I'll try the other stuff next before I grumble at 151. Ta.

Try using Fix-It Assistant (Home-9-2-9-1). Run both tests, the wait a few minutes.
If that doesn't fix it, you'll need to call in.

Cheers, I've run those on the VBox. Is it normal on the second item not to see any confirmation of success or failure reloading channels?

Useful..
I find that sort of sloppy programming really annoying. Like SFC in Windows that just runs and disappears.
Thanks for advice anyway. Now I'll just wait and see if the message comes back.

Re: Smart card invalid 3014
Not sloppy programming. It's just the way the system works. It's designed to operate on one-way networks such as satellite, so there is no feedback mechanism.
Besides, you don't actually have missing channels. I've just got a suspicion it might fix your problem as a side-effect. If not, it certainly can be easily fixed if you call in.

Yes, I can understand that, but local feedback to the bloke pressing buttons on the remote while cursing into his cornflakes would be nice..
