Just checked the Tivo and you cannot change the age rating ( you can change some parts to require a pin E.G purchase controls ), someone else may be able to advise if possible

When the boxes are mostly mpeg4 compatible the switch would create even more storage space , on sky my 250gb box tapes 60hrs HD and the Sky 1tb box does 240 hrs HD so if Virgin had a 500gb TIVo under mpeg 4 you'd be looking about 120 hrs and the TIVO 1tb 240 hrs.
