Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Cannot agree more I have been in touch with CE office complaining of this and other problems and there is almost an indifference to what we have to say compared with nine months ago when they seemed to listen to our complaints

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
I would have thought no new new VIP package would be announced until the current customer pricing for TIVO is released.
This is looking like the the end of March as people have been invited to a launch party (according to a post on the forums).
So, I'd expect end of March, beginning of April for some news.

I'd happily sign a 24 month agreement for this as long as there are no up front fees.
Personally I don't think Virgin are going to be coming up with any ground breaking packages any time soon. I've been following this thread since day 1; things have been way too quiet for way too long. When this thread started Virgin were being hit with wave upon wave of disgruntled telephone calls and e-mails. They had to say something to calm customers down.
All I can say is prove me wrong Virgin, and keep to your word!

I'd be surprised if they introduced a VIP100 package whilst the 100mb service is still only available to a select few. In fact, if they release a VIP100 package with Tivo incorporated and is not available to the whole cable network, I would expect some unimpressed customers - perhaps then the VUP100 package

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Problem is according to the TIVO thread, we should be receiving an offer within "days", which at a guess will be £149, no installation and £3.00 a month.
How likely is it if we agree to this additional cost that VM will then cancel it with a new VIP50 package ?

Yes you could say that or if you look at it in a different way, it has got everybody talking about it and most likely got them mentioning it to their friends. So in my opinion it could be a good thing for VM but not the customers who registered

Totally agree. Virgin will be delighted that Tivo isn't just being ignored. Almost everyone on this forum has an opinion be it positive or negative. The very worst case scenario would have been nobody talking about it.

Everybody talking about Tivo?
I did not see people rushing for demos at the ideal home exhibition yesterday.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
I have read nearly every post on this thread in the months since I came across it, and thought that I just about had my head around the way the prices worked untill now.
I am/was on VIP20 with HD sub (£7) and my bill has now increased to £102.55 as the CEO discount has now expired. After what folk have said on here and what I have seen myself on the Virgin website I decided to upgrade to VIP50 to save myself a couple of quid (£100.55 for what I've already got plus faster broadband and 2nd HD box.)
Now for the shocker (and I'm not complaining), I was quoted £97.40 per month for VIP50 with free installation. I confirmed the price twice and also confirmed contract term (12 months).
Just wondering if anyone else has had this offer. I took the offer BTW.

The £97.40 price is the current price and it increases to £100.55 on 1st April

Surely they cannot quote that price if it is going up in 6 days time!

The certainly shouldn't be. The offer system has the new price so that's what they should be using to advise
The actual main billing system may show the old price, if the area that the customer in hasn't started full April bill period i.e. it's still generating bills where the pre-April price applies
