Sky email
Morning all,
Does anyone have experience of leaving Sky? When you leave Sky do they keep your sky.com email address open or does that die?
My in laws are ditching Sky for what seems a very attractive VM off o free installation and setup free second room V Box and Free V+ box.
Any thoughts ?
Thanks in advance..

Re: Sky email
It is normal with any provider for e-mail addresses associated with an account to be terminated along with the other services when the account is ceased.
The length of time the termination takes depends on the internal procedures of the company in question. When leaving Sky there is a normal 30 day cancellation period when leaving them.
I would reckon that the e-mail addresses would cease within a week or so after the 30 cancellation period.

Was not aware of that, maybe should have searched first before replying.

Thanks all, if nothing else even the 30 day period is usefull as you could setup an auto reply.
I have no experience of Sky and am checking up as a favour so thanks again....
I don't think I could qualify for the new customer referral bonus as VM sent a personalised mailshot to my in-laws with a Leaving Sky promotional offer ....

Re: Sky email
Update.....
When my inlaws called Sky to terminate they offered a free 2nd room install of a free Sky+HD box with £30/month off the bill so they are staying with Sky .
As they are low demand broadband users the Sky broadband offering they get is enough. With two laptops and three xbox360's I need more bandwidth than Sky can provide to my address !!
Some of these retention deals seem mad to me. Anyway thanks for the advice on the email situation..
