I fully understand that this is pre official roll out and it's good to know it's being worked on. It needs to be near 100% at time of roll out or you're going to just get lots of complaints.
Is there any formal way of customers reporting errors or is it something internal to VM ? And if a mistake is spotted how long to get the correction made ?

Re: TiVo
Even the current V+ guide occasionally has errors remember.
Yes TiVo is existing but getting that much info into the guide the are always going to be a couple of wee pieces of data that get missed or are incorrect. Nothing is ever 100% remember. However hopefully VM and TiVo will get there soon.

Yeah, but the V+ doesn't have an 'record only new episodes for this series' option which relies on correct 'UK premiere' guide data. A lot of TiVo's advanced functionality relies on that data being correct, less so for the V+, which were paying £3 per month less for.
Still, I have faith that these and other issues will be sorted soon (and well before the bulk of VM's 3.8 million TV customers get moved over to TiVo ).

There is a place to report these, presumably setup and monitored by VM staff. Will there b a similar one for tivo?

Yes Stephen, but you must realise that folks like me are waiting to hear from VM to be told that we have, either won a free Tivo, or we are to have one installed after a payment of a possible £150 and an ongoing monthly charge.
For me, apart from the larger hard drive, there is no longer as much of a desire to have a Tivo at present. There are too many reasons, such as no third tuner (Coming soon), problems with padding, un-initiated reboots, no red button and most importantly, poor sd picture quality. These are all features that we already have on the V+. I am very happy with both of my V+ boxes. They give me no trouble whatsoever. Why would I want to fork out more dosh to be an early adopter of an as yet unproven technology?

I agree with all these points and can't believe the 'revolutionary' Tivo doesn't update it's EPG data in real time!
At this point it seems like Virgin are charging £3 a month for a bigger HDD.

Re: TiVo
Well I didn't have to convince the Mrs at all about Tivo, we were doing a bit of browsing in the shopping centre and popped into the Virgin store and had a demo, I let him do the whole demo and she seemed to get more excited by the minute especially when she saw the Twitter and Youtube icons.
And then she got disappointed when the sales guy told her that she couldn't buy one now as it is not yet out but there is a waiting list. She then turned to me and asked if we were on the list. She didn't even bulk at £150 price tag.

Re: TiVo
I went to a VM store and they had Tivo and V+ connected to the same tv. I flicked between the two boxes and the pq on sd and hd was exactly the same.
What was disappointing in general was the tv they used. They should use a better tv to show off the V+ and Tivo boxes.

Now, that's what I class as a really inteligent and detailed response to a post making legitimate points about tivo.
Did I miss the bit in the thread title which said only post here if you think Tivo is perfect?
Sorry Hugh, the above is not meant to be offensive, but it's the impression I'm starting to get.
I'm enthusistic about tivo and think it's going to be way bettr than V+ but I refuse to put put blinkers on and pretend it doesn't have things on it that the V+ does better.
I know it's not released yet, but that shouldn't stop people posting their concerns, and accurate guide data is the cornerstone of a PVR.

Re: TiVo
Does anyone know if there is a web page to report any software bugs found with TiVo?

This is how I see it. I've still got my V+HD connected to my HD tv in the bedroom and they look the same to me. Although I think the TiVo's HD is slightly better looking.

You could try here for what the S1 owners and a few others are saying:
http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb...splay.php?f=69
I am not sure but DF maybe able to say if VM monitor the thread?
