When we were in the US last Walmart had a TV with internet apps (think it was Vizio ) it was in demo mode showing the Twitter app up the side while still watching full screen TV it looked pretty good.

Be good if the TIVO could do the same.

Re: TiVo
Just got my March bill and Virgin have charged me TiVo £149 activation fee.
I have paid the £149 activation fee on my CC.
Not very happy
EDIT: Rang Virgin and sorted. My error as they had put £149 onto my last bill as a credit and now its come off as a debit.

This despite the fact that as an S1 owner I was offered a free install and also I have paid the £149 activation fee on my CC.
Not very happy.

Check your "refunds" side of the bill and if there is no credit, then call Customer Care on 150.

Like the XBox one at launch, the developers are looking at "in screen" use, except Sky owned channels of course!

I wouldn't use premier only at the moment. Some shows do not have the "new" marker correctly set, particularly US shows.
If you set it to Reapeats & Premier then you will get the recording you want (it will see it as a repeat), but you won't get any more repeats of the same episode witin 28 days provided you keep it on the TiVo.
Or I guess you can set a manual recording, but that sort of defeats the purpose of your £3 TiVo sub
VM need to work on making this EPG data 100% or having premier only is really a pointless option.

Actually I have a question of my own.
I have done a "thumbs up" on "Top 20...." on MTV Dance. I see today it's recording a "Top 20..." on MTV Base. If I thumbs down "Top 20..." on MTV base will it thumbs down the whole "Top 20..." over all channels or is it intelligent enough to understand my channel preferences ?!

Re: TiVo
The EPG needs to pick up what's a new episode 100% of the time! Surely that's Tivo's bread and butter, anything but perfection in this area is really disappointing.

The problem is that all the EPG data should be spot on. They launched in the UK late 2000 and have been operating on US soil all this time. 11 years to get a correct UK EPG isn't exactly asking for the world!
I agree with your points though regarding other things and expect all the little niggles to be ironed out (padding etc.) through software updates. These things are to be expected from a new box. The EPG on the other hand is bread and butter basics, they can't be affording any hiccups in that area in my opinion.
