Mute symbol on V+

Maybe this is a common problem that rears its head occasionally, but I have seen no mention of it anywhere.

Occasionally I'll get a sound muted symbol on my screen, randomly appearing.
(sound isn't muted, incedentally, just an irritating distracting symbol on picture)

but the remote is programmed to mute the TV not the V+ box itself.

Is there a known cure for this? Or a way to get rid of it?

If pressing "Mute" doesn't clear it then a reboot will.

Yeah it's an old issue, but can be caused by low batteries in the remote.

Well no, Mute button controls the TV not the V+ (I'll try a reboot)

How very strange.....

It's a brand new remote (and batteries) received yesterday from CS to replace an old non-responsive TVDrive one.

I'll replace the supplied batteries with some Duracell.... see if that makes any difference.

thanks DF.

Try putting the box into standby then back out again.

Re: Mute symbol on V+

I have had this all you need to do is push the home button and then the TV button and HEY PRESTO should have gone. It only happens at sporadic times.
