Should I have bothered????

Just upgraded from 10mb to 30mb and the guy said I will get a new Superhub as part of the package, I assume this is why I also got charged a one off fee of £30. I currently have a Belkin Wireless N router connected to my SACM, no real issues at present apart from the traffic management.

Its rare I don't do my research beforehand but I did the upgrade on a whim and now I am concerned that I've committed (hub coming on 24th) but many posters seem to think the Super-hub is *****?

Q1. Is there any way to avoid using the superhub but still get my upgrade speed from 10mb to 30mb?

Q2. Can you configure port forwarding on the superhub?

Q3. Whats gaming on my PS3 going to be like on the Superhub?

Cheers as always chaps...

And really no need to swear

Would also be helpful if you did research before upgrading so you don't worry about it afterwards ..... That thread has all the answers but if you can't be bothered reading .

Q1 no
Q2 yes
Q3 mines fine

re: Should I have bothered????

I'm in the same position as you badboybubby...

I am ringing them soon to demand I be downgraded until the Hub gets fixed. After me thinking that I had a problem with my laptops wireless adaptor they admit that the Hub has issues.

I refuse to pay and wait for something that doesn't perform...

badboybubby, do not use asterisks to avoid swear filter - further occurrences may incur infractions.

Re: Should I have bothered????

  1. No.
  2. Yes, but it tends to fail after a while.
  3. Problematic, probably.

My advice is, keep the self-install kit somewhere safe and continue on with your 10Mbps service until May when the update will be out and hopefully not subject to huge bugs. You don't have to use the Super Hub until it's MAC is registered to your account, you see.

Re: Should I have bothered????

I think the super hub is great lol.

All our devices connect fine and stay connected. Upto 8 devices at once at times, a mixture of phones games consoles laptops and slingbox.

Re: Should I have bothered????

Some people have theirs working fine others seem to have a few issues.

1 no you need the superhub.

2 yes you can

3 mine is fine with online gaming via wireless on the superhub.
