Think of it this way ben.. VM decided to reward TIVO customers (who've paid tivo alot of money over the years). But they can't quite find the money, so they take it out of your raise for this year. Now you are grumpy and VM customers get poor service when they phone you up

Where has it been said that S1 TiVo customers are getting it free. As far as I read they are paying the standard price.
It's existing VIP customers who are getting the remote in a box and the free TiVo.

I will give an answer to those who've simply decided that I was a piece of for getting TiVo before them, but I first have to get on a conference call...

I don't think anyone has a problem with you getting TiVo, good on you. I think it's more a case of people getting in a twist with VM.
Personally I have given up waiting by the phone, when I get it I get it (just wish my SA would play nice until then).

No-one called you anything for getting it first, they just questioned the truth of the post due to you not being a service user prior to getting the call and VM having said general rollout to new customers is in April for £199.
If indeed you have got it then good for you, you are lucky but should not have got it due to VM statement on how rollout will proceed.
Don't forget you are also a very low poster like myself so have yet and have yet to earn a reputation of being a truthful and non windup member.

Re: TiVo
Last time when I checked Asda/Tesco didn't offer me a contract when I finished my weekly big shop! But Tesco do reward loyalty, the more money you spend the more points you get back. And when the big clubcard double up comes around those with the most loyalty get rewarded more. I think the "pull a name out a hat" works best for everyone as it is pure luck. Im trully gutted as I only get those dodgy peanuts in my pub and they don't look great!!!

welcome to the forum firstly ... secondly ... i dont think anyone is calling anyone names its just the whole tivo affair has created tensions ... and of course there are some people who do actually enjoy winding others up on forums which leads to genuine forum members questioning some new members intentions
as i said earlier we cant actually prove or disprove your post as its not in our power but if what you say is true it is showing VM in a bad light IMHO and that the whole tivo existing customer launch is a pure lottery on who gets a call and who doesnt.
as we keep getting told "its not launched yet" my question is - are there one or two launches .. one single launch for open orders over the phone (new and existing customers) or are there in actual fact two launches one for existing customers (no ordering until you get called) and one for new customer phone orders ? ... i ask as it appears random customers on random packages and now random lengths of loyalty are being called with no apparent pattern and some are getting several calls despite already having made an order
all very confusing for the average customer who just wants information and can then form their own opinion on that information

I am neither VIP50 or triple XL, in fact I'm on a "deal". But I did register my interest and they did call me, so why not eh ?
Maybe they are working down the list alphabetically, who knows !

As I have tried to tell you, its not an offical launch at the moment. TiVo is at a pre launch stage, hence the promo for VIP50 customers and TiVo S1 users. They are also calling those who pre registered on the VM website.
Once it fully launches, anyone will be able to order Tivo via the VM site, in a VM store or by phone. There will also be a marketing campaign once it does fully launch.
It doesn't have to have launched for people to get installed with it.
