fair enough, it's only been slow for me a few days though at the start, last 2 days it's been lightening.
3 tuners will be even nicer though agreed
@J.C - ah right fair enough, I'm not even on 50MB yet (don't want a superhub just yet and i've only got one of those black modems) so don't think i'll be an early adopter anyway.

Re: TiVo
Out of interest how much a month should VIP50 with Tivo (and second box as V+) with Sky HD on both boxes be? I've currently got 2 V+'s on VIP 20 (read note at bottom) with Sky HD on both (£14 pm just for that), I know that you get Sky HD free with one box when your on VIP50 so trying to see if that would actually save me money lol. And if I get Tivo it would just be a straight swap for one of the V+ boxes that I have.
I'm not even sure I'd officially be classed as VIP20 though because I arranged a retentions deal (first one I've ever done - when sky hd came out) last year and a few of the phone extra got dropped as part of that. Still paying £100+ a month though.

Re: TiVo
I got the call!!
Yesterday, on my mobile, when I was in Barcelona.
Unfortunately, he called me a day early, because he then noticed I didn't have any Virgin Media service installed... Yet! The thing is, I'd ordered VM 2 weeks ago (in readiness), and it wasn't installed yet, and he told me that once there is an order in for something, he can't put the order for TiVo in.
Fortunately, the installation was today (BB XXL and XL TV), and minutes after the engineers left, I called the VM guy back (he'd given me his direct number) and ordered it. £149, no installation charge and £3 per month extra. Paid on CC over the phone (I have no problem with that)
TiVo installation will be on Sat 19th. 1 week to live with the awful V box before I can get the proper one, I can't wait!

I hope this is a wind-up.......
VM stated that only current customers should be getting it until full rollout. Plus it should have been £199 for a new customer.
If not then someone needs to contact the TiVo callers and ask them what they are doing......

Its not beta and its also not slow Its worth getting, just for the 1TB space. 3rd tuner will just be a software update and should happen by March.

It's a wind-up. We are not marketing to new customers until the next quarter. Unless a mistake has been made?

If that story is true ... and we cant prove or disprove it then it validates what i have been saying for a few days ... there is no defending VM on this as it truely would be a shambles if customers of 10 plus years arent called before someone who only joined (not installed) two weeks ago
as i said previously ... we can only judge VM by the information we have and as VM are slow (at best) and inadequate at releasing information we are reliant on what we get on the net ... as a net provider VM should be aware they will get adverse comments with stories such as above
sorry VM so far its a total mess based on what information we have and looking after existing customers isnt happening as well as you said it would

He did pre register and also by the time he called to book an install he was an existing customer

To be honest, the poster has no track record on here, so I'm going to say it's not true. I don't wish to offend the poster, but that's my opinion.

Well pending existing customerr as he hasn't actually got the stuff installed yet
But I can see how it could be an error on the system that misread the pending bit

you cant be serious .... a customer of 2 weeks gets called ahead of a customer of 10 years ... if a joke its slightly bad taste considering the tension tivo has caused
there has to be something wrong with the system if newer customers are being put ahead of oldest customers and some are getting 3 calls with offers despite already signing up ... if a wind-up .. then ban em for life for being a (being polite there)

Don't see how a mistake was made unless the system is not set up properly as only current customers with services installed should be called.
I would like proof myself if I was a VM employee so that I could post emphatically that this is a windup rather than leaving people to question whether VM are calling people like this rather than themselves......
I know I'm very demanding and awkward but thats the nature of people who have been waitin for a year for this and now its here others may be getting it before us even when they shouldn't.

Not refering to the above customer, but an existing customer is an existing customer. It doesn't matter how long they have been customers.
