Re: TiVo
I get sick of this 149 for a box you don't own , the Sky 1tb box is about 249 and ok you own it but really what good is it without a Sky sub. Basically it just becomes an expensive freest receiver.

It's no different to when the V+ was first launched. People who wanted to get it right at the start paid extra.

I don't think your read his post properly, he's saying he's sick of people complaining about the price of a box and not owning it.

But they get to sell it.
So £249 for a box, less £150 or so for it being 12 months old so you sell it for £100 and buy a new one or keep it longer and sell it for less with possibility of it breaking down.
However we poor VM suckers will pay £149 for something we don't own so can't get the pleasure of selling it, changing it every 12 months for extra cost or the please of waiting for repairs without rebate for loss of service like those lucky Sky customers.
We don't even get the chance to have to pay to see any non territorial channel HD. I mean what am I supposed to do with that £10.25 a month?
I just can't understand it

And when you Sky box dies after 13 months (as many of them do) - it is dead snd you money gone. VM replace their stb foc.

Re: TiVo
Does a phone call re Tivo give the impression of a cold call - ie you wait for a response when you pick the phone up or you hear an Indian voice. My response is usually short and sweet without waiting to hear what I am being asked to buy if I suspect a cold call.

You won't be getting a call from India regarding TiVo install. I can assure you.

Re: TiVo
Just got Tivo installed today, everything looks wicked, only has twitter, ebay, utube, weather, and celebrity, but should be more to come I hope.
not sluggish like the reports I read on it, does have one bug I have noticed. It sticks sometimes after going into the guide if you press to many buttons in guide.

Re: TiVo
Just booked my install for 17th Feb. VIP50 owner and S1 Tivo owner. Asked about what happens if the sub forms part of any VIP package in the future and told that it would automatically apply. Also told that I will be entered into a draw for a free TiVo and the £149 refunded if I get lucky. Here's waiting in anticipation for next week. :-)

Re: TiVo
Just a quick note about recording capacity.
The figure of 500hrs is being banded about, just had a look on system info on the TiVo box, and the info says 99hrs of HD or 325hrs of standard.
Don't know if this is set to increase in the future, but this is what is available now...
Roll on march for the third tuner and upgrades!
