Ok well here's something to think about.
I phoned to upgrade to the 30MB on the 1st Feb, router was delivered and activated on the 3rd.
On the 4th i get my new contract which didnt look right to me.
I WAS paying £45 per month for basic phone, TV XL, V+ HD & 20MB broadband. My retentions / loyalty discount (whatever you call it) comes out at -£30 per month
My NEW contract for the same services except with the upgrade to 30MB was showing at £55 per month. My retentions is now only -£20 per month
However, i specifically asked the lady when I phoned up wether the new service would change my monthly bills and she said NO.
So, I phoned up virgin to either get my price put back to £45 per month or cancel the 30mb and go back to my 20mb on £45 pm.
after a relatively short call with the operator looking at the logs on my account they have put my extra £10 loyalty discount back on and I have received the new contract this morning and all is good.
So, im paying £45 for, basic phone, TV:XL, V+ HD Box & 30mb Broadband!

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
They upgraded my internet to 30Mb going to pay £30.74 per month for Phone M + Broadband XL. Stats look good, didn't have to pay the £30 charge, its the Indian call centres who are trying to charge customers £30 even if they have a superhub, UK call centres dont.

Well not offering deals involving 30Mb lasted a while BenMcr et al.
£30 / month discount on a £75 / month package. Nicely done Mr Richards, hugely amused that VM have so much confidence in themselves that they do deals like this.

I wouldn't say it's an official deal though, more like an exception because the previous agent messed up and didn't advise that the price would indeed go up

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
After speaking to Customer Services last Friday after recieving the letter about the upgrade they told us that becasue we're on a retentions deal/loyalty discount that we would not be able to upgrade atm.
But after reading the forums on the web and reading that some customerx on similar deals have been able to upgrade I rang Virgin back again this afternoon to ask again and the very helpful lady said that those that are on retentions and have been given upgrades SHOULDN'T of had them and that they're working internally to make sure everyone is aware of this. She also said that they would have more info for exsisting customers by Friday and have been adding to the list for a call back.

Only the PS3 has a Gigabit connection as far as I'm aware, the Xbox is only 10/100
As you have deduced the Green shows a 1Gbit link speed between the Hub and the device, orange is 10/100 link speed

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
Bah! Just got my new contract through. Monthly price has gone from £33 to £69 CS don't understand that I'm on the virgin media partner deal and not on a retentions deal. The guys at the Nottingham center are trying to sort it out.

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
I went for the upgrade on Feb 1st and an engineer is supposedly arriving tomorrow. Every step of the way during ordering the upgrade I was shown that I would be charged £30 for the upgrade, but I've just now received my letter about the upgrade and it shows this on the back:
I've viewed many, many pages of this thread, not done yet, but so far I haven't seen anyone else being charged 70. What should I do about this?

Call Customer Services and ask them what is going on and ask for the £40 to credited back which they will do as long as you have not insisted on an engineer otherwise that is chargeable.

Ok, I've since been on the phone with customer support and a nice irish sounding chap took £40 off the charge, making it the standard £30. All sorted, Looking forward to the upgrade
