Took the module off and its increased to 15-16db, assumed it was a + as it didn't say -6 on the module.

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
It's a +6dB Forward Path Attenuator. It adds 6dB to the forward attentuation. Removing the attenuation increases the resulting signal.

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
Was thinking of adjusting my power levels as they are also slightly high , not got time to wait for an engineer , can you buy the attenuators anywhere ? And what would I need if my power level is 8.8 ish , is it worth messing with ?

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
You can get them off Ebay easily enough. Personally I had problems when my power level went above +7.5dB (stability issues) but the Superhub is supposedly more tolerant of higher power levels than the VMNG300 I have, so you may or may not see issues at those levels. Ideal is still <7 though.

Re: Have a Superhub and been charged for 30Mb?
It's only what many of the Virginmedia staff who post here have already been saying over, and over again

Oh dear, someone chose to design in "issues"? If the "issues" can be predicted, why were they not eliminated before now?

Hi daveyrb,
I can confirm that we are looking to implement a bridged mode on all of our hubs. With regards to a release date for this firmware revision we are working towards a year quarter 2 release.

So that would put it sometime after March end.

Re: Have a Superhub and been charged for 30Mb?
Also on Virgin's official forum
http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/...AQ/td-p/322871
2) I've already got a SuperHub/VMNG300 modem, do I need to pay the activation fee?
No, a small number of customers that already have a Super Hub or VMNG300 modem will not have to pay the £30 activation fee to upgrade to 30Mb. We’ll let you know of any plans to automatically uplift customers onto 30Mb should this take place

Superhub range is LOTS better for me in the house. Our iPhones/pods/pads can all finally get connected at the furthest point.

Of course no one will see this or take any notice of it because everyone's too busy ripping shreds of each other and trying to score points..

I saw it and took notice! I've got my superhub on the way and was worried about wireless signal as a few ad complained about it not reaching as far as others.

Re: Have a Superhub and been charged for 30Mb?
There are a few though who have been charged even though they already had the superhub.
How could they poster have rung up and had it refunded if he had not been charged for it?
There are also still posts on this forum where offshore especially are telling existing superhub customers they will be charged.

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
Why so many firmware updates? To date the Super Hub has had none since entering the wild, and the R20 was released during customer pilot. By that point a newer firmware would have already been well into development, then you have to factor in implementation and user acceptance testing and a controlled trial. The bridge mode demand only started at that point, so obviously it takes time, and probably until after Christ gets attached to his sunbeam that that particular feature will make an appearance. I think its safe to say that should VM develop any other gateway in the future that bridge mode will be there from the offing..

I wouldn't agree with you there whizzard. I and many others had voiced concerns about it long before the superhub was released on the scale it is now.

Indeed you did, though it's only been the VM CPE of choice for a little over 10 weeks as we speak.
