I wasn't sure where to post this link originally posted by muppetman11 but I thought it was worth putting it somewhere that more members would be able to see/comment without taking the Coming Soon thread way off topic.
I do like to see good news being reported. Maybe those who paid money up front to participate in the theft of TV services will think twice about doing it again.

Re: Virgin media possibly getting serious on dodgy boxes?
Card sharing is seriously stupid (relatively easy to stop at the source and traceable).
Is it only me which finds it annoying that VM/Telewest spent years exclaiming dodgy boxes are inflating the price for everybody else... yet now they've got around to doing something about the vast majority of boxes - oh, the price is still going up.
Makes me feel a little better about my position on dodgy boxes at the time which was that although I didn't condone it, I didn't find it offensive (unlike cloned modems which wreck someone else's connection).

Re: Virgin media possibly getting serious on dodgy boxes?
Yep, hooray for Section 11 of the Fraud Act 2006 ... that inconvenient little law that the thieves and cloners either think doesn't exist or doesn't apply to them.
News just in: It does and it does.

They were and you guessed it they still are as this proves.
The servers are the weak link and are so easy to trace.

Dodgy modems are dead in the water. There are hardly any of them on the network now. Look at the sites where the modders live and you will see they have all but given up on them because of the new network and its security.

Yep, the migration to DOCSIS 3.0 and presumably the introduction of SEC as a follow on to BPI+
