It is safe to say VM's landline service is particularly uncompetitive and includes less too. Then again Sky have the happy HD charge, we cannot win!!

Re: TiVo

So VIP is actually going up by more than the individual prices rises combined. So a smaller discount is being applied ?

No it's not. It's going up by exactly the individual price rises combined.

Re: TiVo

£1.00 XL TV
75p - Line rental
25p - Talk International
25p - Talk Mobile

That is £2.25 isn't it.

Re: TiVo

What's not on there though is 90p increase in the cost of additonal STBs for customers with HD activated STBs, of which one is included in VIP.

This then takes it to the £3.15 increase

Re: TiVo

OK that is fine, if I could find anywhere that addition STB is increasing by 90p.

The telephone service is a concern for us now. £23 from April for line, allday calls and CLI almost cancels out the HD charge saving, add on some 0870 calls and it can obliterate it. You can get the same from Sky for £16.25 with cli, 0870 and international calls included . And if you pay for the line upfront for a year it's only £14.25.

There's virtually nothing between them now on price for us but for some reason my instinct still tells me to steer clear of them even though they have channels we really want.

When you get the letter or email confirming the price rise for you, you will

The website is just for those changes that affect everyone. The Additional outlet change doesn't affect customers with only SD boxes, so would be confusing if put on the website

When I upgraded to VIP50 when it first came out I wasn't offered a swap of the old samsung vbox to the new vhd box. So when the prices increase will I have to pay the extra 90p also?

I did try and have the box changed to a vhd a couple of weeks ago, but they wanted £40 install fee and £30 or was it £49 activation fee as well. Bloody ridiculous if you ask me. I've been paying over £100 a month for years.

edit: I thing you just answered that a couple of posts up.

Yes because the cost of the additional box is dictated by whether any of the boxes are HD. So as you've got the V+ HD box then the 90p applies. This takes it to £6.50 for additional boxes when you have an HD box compared with £10.50 if you don't

Re: TiVo

So how much should I pay to change the SD box upstairs to a V HD box? Should it not be included in the package?

Re: TiVo

I had a call from Virginmedia but was out. The O/H took but they said they'd call back this was on Fri and I've not heard anything since.

I didn't really think anything of it or realise that they had started calling, until I re-checked this thread. Oh well I guess patience is a virtue!
