Re: 20 Mb/s to 30Mb/s free upgrade
It will come to you for free if on 20Mb with a superhub. Maybe 4-6 weeks or longer though.

There's a few people saying this, including yourself, but I've not seen a definitive source for this information. Their press releases and website mention nothing of it.
Can you confirm you're absolutely sure about this based on an official VM source? For the record, I don't consider posts on this forum to be an official source.

The VM staffers are giving you the best information they have.
It is, imho, inappropriate to ask them to confirm it officially, as they are on this forum in an unofficial capacity.

Re: 20 Mb/s to 30Mb/s free upgrade
All im telling people here is dont be stupid and pay the £30 charge, upgrade to 50Mb for 6 months which will cost you £30 and get the superhub for free, then downgrade back to 30Mb if you wish.
If you already have a superhub, still upgrade to 50Mb as they will still attempt to charge you the £30.
The way they have done this is very stupid.

Surely this just affects the TV - I don't understand why this affects the whole package.

Free installation & activation upgrade offer: Offer ends 31st March 2011. Subject to network capacity. 12 month minimum contract term applies. If you cancel during the minimum contract period you will incur an early disconnection fee. Available to existing customers upgrading to broadband size XXL (subject to status and credit checks). Customers on non-standard pricing will need to move to standard pricing to receive these offers. Downgrading services in your bundle during the minimum period will attract a charge.

This'll be why people are being told they will lose their retentions deals.
Also note the old page is back up, though it's omits some key information in the T&Cs that are only mentioned on the new page:

Yet the same staffers were saying "we can't reveal anything, wait for an official announcement" only 3 days ago.
If it's information they have, it would be nice to know if it's confirmed information or just rumour. If it's unofficial information it's inappropriate for them to imply it as a certainty and tell people what to/not to do based on it.

Re: 20 Mb/s to 30Mb/s free upgrade
im on a bundle package that have
TV M (no +)
Phone M
and BB XL
paying £32.24 (according to last email bill)
if i do upgrade would i have to go for TV M+ (as TV M isn't available in build a bundle)
which i think would make my bundle cost £37.99

OK lets just let everyone who already has a Superhub on 20Mb ring up and pay £30 for the upgrade and receive a new Superhub.

The fact that there are a few of us telling you this should confirm to you that it will happen.
Remember not everyone will realise the change in speed is there or know they are entitled to it. But they will have been installed with a superhub with their 20mb for the last few weeks. So they will get uplifted to 30mb at some point in the next couple of months.

Re: 20 Mb/s to 30Mb/s free upgrade
Is it me, or has CF been overrun by morons in the last few months? Between this and the TiVO thread, the sheer amount of people wanting something for nothing and not even being prepared to wait for it when they may very well get summat for nowt is mind boggling! I've always appreciated the respect that CF afforded the VM staffers who chose to spend their free time on t'internet discussing work! You certainly wouldn't catch me doing it and I'm ruddy grateful that they do.
Chill out, calm down and show a bit of respect people. CF is very loosely moderated - if this was some of the other forums I frequent, the banhammer would have been wielded by now. Mad props to all the regulars for giving us as much info as they're allowed (and probably more than they should).
Rant over. Sorry mods.
