Either that modem is 'locked' to 10mb via config files (and its clearly capable of greater speeds); or DS misinterpreted what they were told; or that patch really kicks some serious arse and turns a 10mb modem into a 20mb one.

Re: TiVo
I'm on night shift this week so this could be fun!
What's the betting that the time I'll be asleep, VM will ring.

Of course they can. The modem is provisioned for 10mb, but capable of faster speeds should the need arise.

Re: TiVo
So...does anyone know if there is anymore news! I am eagerly waiting for my phone to ring! Is that likely to happen today?

Re: TiVo
Can somebody tell VM they have wound up their customers into a state of panic on Tivo, better get more staff in to make those initial contact calls!!!
Great post yesterday HDFootyMan on "Tivo Tension" by the way, should be distributed around the VM call centre staff so they can understand the pent-up Tivo frustration of their customers!

So the VM marketing approach is working nicely then.

Re: TiVo
Yes, but a marketing approach is only good if they have a product available to market!

Re: TiVo
Spoke to retentions today about the 30Mbit upgrade and while I was on asked about the TiVo situation. The information he had is that there will be 500 boxes supplied in the first wave, then a bedding in period to see what issues arise before any more are installed.
I cannot vouch for the accuracy, but that is what I was told.

Re: TiVo
Have to say that makes sense, don't rush out too many too fast, just pot luck if you are in the first tranche of 500 I guess. But if they do 500 at a time, it will easily take until June to complete 5000, let's hope I am not last in the current queue!
