Sorry, no I didn't. Looks more like the hub than any wireless router I've seen VM hand out, must be one I haven't seen.

Re: Virgin to give new Superhub out.
As Masque stated, it's the WNR2000. (first one that came with the 50Mbit, I haven't taken mine out of the wrapper yet).

It was the first N router that we sent out with 50Mb installs.

Any idea how long "eventually" is likely to be?

Re: Virgin to give new Superhub out.
I can disable wireless on my Superhub.
You then connect your router as you normally would to it using it as a modem only.

Re: Virgin to give new Superhub out.
The first thing in line needs to be modem ONLY (i.e. not Hub or Super Hub). Then a router which is DD-WRT capable can be connected, giving lots of network options almost no home routers are capable of.
Disabling the wireless of the Super Hub doesn't turn it into a modem, it's still a modem/router just not a wireless one.
The WNR2000 being supplied isn't a big deal, honestly. It's a reasonable unit for something so cheap but the range isn't great. The D-Link 615 would do just as well, perhaps better, as all hardware revisions are supported by DD-WRT whereas with the WNR2000 only v2 is.
Seeing as not all comments about it are negative I'm more than willing to concede I was one of (guessing) 20-40% of people who got a duff one, but even if it worked perfectly it still wouldn't be good enough for what I and several other power users need.
Seperate modem then router is the way to go, and VM as a company should be smart enough to realise that. You pay extra for the premium broadband packages, you should be able to run the network the way you want more or less.

None of the A or B hardware revisions are supported by dd-wrt, and nor is the E2 revision.
To my knowledge though, the vast majority of the ones handed out by VM are revision D.
But like I've said before, seperate modem and router (or bridge mode) aren't universal, even on "premum broadband packages" from the competition, we're just too used to it as it's always been the norm on cable.

Re: Virgin to give new Superhub out.
just released the new R08 firmware for our Virgin Media Hub today. All you need to do to update your Hub is to turn it off for 30 seconds and then back on again.
This patch:
Solves issues with Gaydar and other websites IRC chat programs.
Addresses issues with multithreaded downloads where some customers could not download and browse at the same time.
If you could post any feedback you have about using the new patch in this thread we'd appreciate it.
Note that this patch will not fix the 'Multiple XBox' issue however we're planning to start testing a new firmware patch that does in the next few weeks.

This post says a lot about the quality of the testing of the previous firmware release. In fact, asking for feedback now doesn't inspire much confidence in the testing of this release. And it doesn't fix all the problems. How about VM don't issue kit until it is fit for purpose?

It's always been £75 unless you upgrade your BB then you get it free.
