Re: belkin router

ive changed the channels, tried different types of security, reset, restored, updated, tried firefox, i just carnt understand it.
its seems to be ok this morning, but no doubt it will soon start messing me about taking ages to open pages or dropping connection.
im thinking its a compatability issue with vista as it seem to happen moslty to my laptop an not the desktop running xp.
while searching google lots of people seem to be having the sme problems but noone has an answer to it.

Re: belkin router

okay what laptop have you got or if you know which wireless card is in it??? (go to control panel and then to Device Manager). I've got a laptop with Win7 on it and no probs with the wireless on it.

So from reading this the pc is okay most of the time? Also when the laptop loses internet connection do you get a 169.254.*.* address or still the 192.168.2.*? To find the ip address go to Start --> Run --> type in "cmd" and on the blackscreen type in "ipconfig"

Re: belkin router

fujistsu amilo laptop with an atheros ar5007eg built in card, i had a sitecom router which worked fine until it died so i dont think it would be anything to do with them, i can always see the connection in networks, it just drops or is extremly slow.

on he cmd bit it says media disconnected, so i reconnected an then it comes up with the 192.168.2.*

Re: belkin router

okay have a look for new drivers for the wireless card on the laptop, you might find them on the fujitsu website or this is the link for Atheros http://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wirele...et=22&system=4

See if that fixes the issue for you

Re: belkin router

These Belkin drop out issues, is it only affecting the wireless or the wired connections too.
I can get a new N1 Vision for about £40 which will be mainly wired so will the issues affect me?

Thanks.
