On-Demand TV - Subtitles
I have Virgin Media TV (formerly Telewest) and when I watch, I have the subtitles on (blue button to turn on or off).
However, when watching a catch-up (on-demand) programme, I cannot find a way of seeing subtitles. I wonder if it is possible, as I asked a Virgin Media workman in the street & he wasn't sure. He rang his Boss who also wasn't sure. It seems a pity that those hard of hearing cannot benefit.
The box is V-Box Pace. I still have the old remote control & the Mute button does not work with this box, but not important.
My TV is quite old & is set up so I can watch terrestrial BBC1, etc. & Cable is on 6, so until we go digital I can watch the main channels whilst recording from cable channel.
Any info most welcome, thanks.

Hi and to the forum
VM don't currently carry subtitles in On Demand for technical reasons. This is something that is being worked on, but there are no timescales announced regarding this.

Re: On-Demand TV - Subtitles
Thanks for replies.
So - it is not of use to the hard of hearing & therefore not suitable for a friend.
Any idea if Sky has this facility?

Sky certainly provide subtitles (and audio description) with their 'Anytime' service, that is the over the air content that is downloaded to the STB, however they do not have it with their 'Anytime+' service which uses a Sky Broadband connectioin to deliver content.
Rubbish I know but I hope things improve in the future.

Re: On-Demand TV - Subtitles
The V+HD box might be useful, as all programmes that carry subtitles can be recorded with the subs.
This would require a upgrade from VM. Prices vary depending on your tv package.
