I've been a tad smug and laughing about it, no point in getting stressed out really. That and the head of NI Water customer service is the old manager from Ntl here who made lots of people redundant and closed the call centre here, so watching him squirm when being interviewed has provided a few giggles.
Between us, my dad and my father in law we raided the bottled water supplies before a lot of people even realised that their water was off. None of this going and queueing at a stand pipe to get water you need to boil for me. |

I feel like such a rebel for every drop of water I take out of the tap, people (including my parents and inlaws) who are only just over a mile away and in the same post code still don't have.... best get the kettle on!

Just had our first home-baked loaf from our Christmas present from the kids (a Panasonic 257, inspired by the plaudits it received on CF).
Waking up to the smell of fresh-baked bread, then the wonderful taste - excellent.

There is a census being completed again next year and adverts have appeared looking for staff to assist people in their own home to complete and return their forms. In a day I've completed an application form, passed an online suitability test and arranged a phone interview for 7th January
Its only 6 weeks work at 15 hours a week so I'm sure I can manage to work it around my full time job and the hourly pay isn't too bad either.

Now i've just got to find myself a free or almost free replacement fridge freezer which died on me yesterday - there's always somsething huh |

The phone interview is pretty straight forward, they basically want to know about relevant experience.

 | On the 2 hour quick setting (for a 500g loaf), our usual loaf consist of 250g of Strong white, 150g Hovis Granary, and 100g of Strong brown flour. Tastes much better than just plain white or brown.

I'm thinking it might be heavy going (after some of the scenarios on the suitability test) but it should look good on my cv
I thought the time slot was starting the end of March with 1st week of May completion? I didn't realise it could go over.

Didn't they mention phase 2 to you? Apparently after the first month or so they may decide to keep you on for a little longer, couldn't really go into to much detail with her though as she was reluctant to tell me how I done first of and secondly they phoned me much later than scheduled and I was right in the middle of some thing, typical. Kind of ties in with the suitability questions to I guess with the phase 1,2 and 3 questions.
