But as usual a pinch of salt required. I notice the post was dated 4th December, were any TiVo's installed then?
Think I'll wait until our CF resident posters can talk about their TiVo's before getting a true idea of good/bad points.
On a side note am I not the only one thinking it is a huge risk getting TiVo from launch? I really cannot afford to take time off work to sit indoors waiting for engineers to come round for box swaps if there are problems

Re: TiVo
The picture issues he describes are typical images on sky Movies, the picture quality on the SD channels is naff.

In terms of our roll-out, we're focusing initially on our staff and existing customers before we really open it out to prospects at large. We think that's important because getting the advocacy, getting the excitement, getting the buzz going within our home territory, if you like, is incredibly important.

Funny how they keep on saying that they will open it to existing customers first but have only revealed prices for new customers.

or me, infact if you do read that review, from the 4th of december, it doesn't exactly promote TIVO very well does it? But like a lot of people on here, I'm ready and waiting for the launch, money ready! What I'm not looking forward to is a possible wait until march to get my hands on one, that seems a ridiculous time away!

I was also hoping for a call by now as well, but what i think could be causing the problems with not been contacted could be due to the adverse weather conditions ( as in if all the staff are unable to get in they may have all available staff on customer service calls ).
This happened when i worked for a outsourced call centre and we got the floods a few years ago in Yorkshire. I stand to be corrected but it is just my opinion

Maybe their in the business of 'mis-information' seriously though I for one am looking forward to this. It feels for once virgin may have the upper hand on the tv front, it genuinely looks like it will be a not just a good but brilliant piece of kit.
This is where virgin can now excel. They have most of the content people want, the sports and movies in HD, a good selection of hd channels, a very good selection of SD channels (with more to come) and a fantastic selection of on demand content. Now they have the machine to exploit that, lets just hope they don't balls it up. I like my v+ now, but the TIVO looks like a breath of fresh air! personally I can't wait!

Well the actual trials will have been on going for months so it could be real.

When we have a date, you can bet we'll be publishing it on the front page.

Re: TiVo
There is a nice chat on this Pocket-Lint podcast about the TiVo demo they received and they go through the experience:
http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/3714...ast-episode-27
Lets just say the guy who got the demo liked it, liked it ALOT!
