Graphics Card Power
First post......
Customer has an Alienware PC with 2 8800GTX graphics cards with Sli, one failed, so they bought a Geforce GTX580, to replace the dual 8800. Now the 8800's required 2 6pin PCI-E each, the 580 requires a 6pin and an 8pin connector, so what im after is dual 6pin to 8pin, only one i can find is on Amazon but OOS, any ideas......

Re: Graphics Card Power
Cheers
Seen both of these, really want a dual 6pin to 8pin, as all the cables are already in place( 4 x 6pin), but the molex to 8pin could be an option

Re: Graphics Card Power
This although I don't know if I would trust it. Especially for a fermi based card.

Re: Graphics Card Power
I use a single 6 to 8 pin adaptor on mine which is this and it works a treat and I am running a GTX 480 which uses more power than a GTX 580.
I know it's out of stock but they do another I think so may be worth looking at them, but you do not need a dual 6 pin pci-e to a single 8 pin pci-e you only need what I have put above trust me.

No offence intended by that but all 8 pin's be it 6+2 or 8 on it's own are the same size and layout etc, so all should fit except from the 8pin that connect's to the motherboard.
Also if you like that 1 that I posted you could try scan, micro direct, aria, ebuyer etc I think most companie's now sell them pre braided cable's.

Re: Graphics Card Power
Have found the reason why....the cable bought from Pc World packaged as PCI-E 6pin to PCI-E 8pin is in fact a 6pin PIC-E to 8pin EPS, hence it wont fit
