Computer Slow, even in safe mode

I inserted my samsung story station into my laptop and a USB drive, and installed Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (2010) onto it, after running the game, the screen went blue and rebooted, and now it freezes about 2-3 minutes after start up. I removed the drivers from the system (the samsung and USB) but still the problem persists, its running extremely slow and the disk activity is light up constantly. Now after 10 minutes it isn't slow anymore i've restarted and going to try updating display drivers.

Does anyone know what could be causing the problem? Its done this before (when i did not install Need for Speed but managed to sort it somehow.

Let me just add that CPU usage on task manager is normal 0% or 1% just like normal, so why is it like this?

Re: Computer Slow, even in safe mode

right click my computer select manage then event viewer

under Summary of Administrative events there are different headings with drop down menus. Look at the top 3 around the time of the crash for clues

HD light staying on can indicate that the HD is on it's way out. Run a utility that can check the HD like speedfan and check the SMART stats to see if it shows anything out of the ordinary.
