Why does Sky have all the UKTV channels
I don't know if this is been talked about, but why does Sky carry all the UKTV channels whilst Virgin does not. Virgin owns 50% of UKTV, so why don't they show all the channels. Case in point,Sky has exclusive rights to Good Food HD, its a bit like having an advert for a car and saying that the competitors is better, not good business sense I think.

The issue regarding Good Food HD is already being discussed here.

Yes it is, but what about all the other uktv channels especially the eden and yesterday +1 channels. virgin used to carry them, then they suddenly stopped, you can't say they could not get the contract signed seeing as they own 50% of the company, and they are not the silent partner.

I would be surprised if they are a silent partner also (how does that work?) but I'm also surprised you can say they are not with such certainty. Where is your proof? Perhaps the person who originally said they are a silent partner should also offer some proof.

Should have done more research before posting that VM were silent partners?

Re: Why does Sky have all the UKTV channels
Just read this thread, who did say they were a silent partner?
Can't see anyone saying they were.
Someone questioned it asking for more information about it and the information was provided...

I'm sure you posted it in good faith devilincarnate. I just wondered what the truth was. A bit more research and you have found it. It takes a big man to admit when he is wrong.

It was me and i am sorry about jumping the gun about it and i do apologise about what i said before looking in to it more . The thing that has got me is that the BBC has got the right to chose who has got the right to buy ( if not that they want to buy them )
