Virgin TV, Launching of Channels

I wonder why Virgin Media don't allow potential broadcasters to launch on Virgin Media instead of having to go to Sky first and then to Virgin Media? Theres no information on the Virgin Media website at all about this.

Re: Virgin TV, Launching of Channels

They do, in the past this would have gone through VMTV but would now go go directly to the board of VM.

Just because its not on the website doesnt mean it wont happen! Remember, Virgin have had unique launches of channels and HD services recently, also consider the On Demand content deals.

vmtv had nothing to do with launch of chanenls on vm they just provide channels and the content for the channeks lik livign etc they didnt have anything to do with chanels launching on virign, the reason they dnt open the network is simple it cost to much they willprobally do it in teh future esipcally with tivo now coming and switch video meaning bandwdht wont ever be aproblem plus the channels rather go to sjy they have better numebr of viewers

Who is going to pay for the bandwidth? It is easier to source a channel that is already on satellite then to arrange a uplink for a channel that does not broadcast anywhere.
