				Spybot question

I'm running Spybot v. 1.5.2.20 and have just started a check. I've noticed that it's going to check for over 800,000 items which at the current rate of progress will take ages. Is there anything I can do to speed it up?
Cheers as always. |

Doing it manually, how long it takes isn't really the problem, so long as it is not reasonably excessive. Planning is the problem, if it takes XXmins, do it when you have another job that takes the same sort of time, wash car, ironing, have a bath.
A full check on my Acer laptop takes only 20mins or so. Most people use Spybot because it is trusted tool, not because it is a click and done in seconds task.

Different items are scanned at different speeds, out of those 800,000 only about a quarter might be files and a lot might be reg entries which are scanned a lot, lot, lot faster..

Thanks guys - it didn't take quite as long as I thought so I'll stick with it for now.
ps It came up with a list of about 40 cookies which it flagged as potential concerns. Has anyone got any tips on immunising? I'm nervous about doing so and finding I can't get into certain sites anymore.

Think yourself lucky. The 1.6.2.46 version scans 1,312,514 items when I kicked off a scan 2mins ago.
