Anyone for Black Jacks?
Came across this while looking for gift ideas..
Even if you don't buy anything a good slobber at things we used to spend our pocket money on is time well spent imo.
http://www.zapsweets.co.uk
If anyone wants my address so I can test out a hamper or two on your behalf then please, just ask..

Re: Anyone for Black Jacks?
Always wondered about these old sweets. are they still in date? I can imagine someone finding boxes of old sticky and soggy black jacks.

Re: Anyone for Black Jacks?
The sweets will have been produced for an active market somewhere in the world.. Just because they are not produced here anymore doesn't mean to say that these are old and out of date

Re: Anyone for Black Jacks?
So they are still being made then? if they make them for other countries why can't they just stick a few boxes in the shops in this country?

Re: Anyone for Black Jacks?
I use http://www.aquarterof.co.uk/ .....great reliving old memories, but the sweets all seem so small now!
And items that used to be 4 for an old penny are now up to 5p each! That's 48 times more expensive! Damned inflation!

Kicking the sweets out the wrong side of the bed?
They're selling old sweets that are no longer available in the shops.

Re: Anyone for Black Jacks?
And it's the shops that sell them not the manufacturers
Shops will not put stuff on the shelves if not enough people will buy them to make it worth while.. So the manufacturers respond by not making them any more for that regional market..

Re: Anyone for Black Jacks?
I'm a licorice addict, but shudder at having to pay 15p for one Bassetti stick... and now they're brown and not black!
Licorice laces were my fave... and those long licorice tubes.....gone now though

Amazon seems to have a big licorice selection (in their "old fashioned" section under Groceries)
