Dunno but I wouldn't imagine fuel prices will drop as a result....

Yes, it's called "appeasement".

Best get used to it in the current climate.

Ahem... they plumetted

Now OPEC (you rarely hear that name these days) want to slash oil production to increase prices. But who refuses to do so? Iran.

Think he was referring to how oil prices dropped despite Iran holding OPEC presidency.

That was more about Saudi Arabia trying to put US frackers out of business alongside a slow-down in consumption though.

Petrol prices our way are creeping up again though, funny how that's not been mentioned anywhere in the news.

You need to look harder then. The business pages of most newspapers and business sites follow the oil price very closely indeed. Oil has risen from Approx. $30 a barrel to $40+ as I post. This, combined with Sterling plumbing new lows of near €1.25 recently has caused prices at the pump to rise.

It's not headline news because frankly, it's moving up a bit, but is still low compared to a few years ago. If oil prices suddenly jolted up and petrol went to £1.20+ again, it'll be front page news I'm sure.
