Virgin TV Installation

I am having Virgin cable TV installed next week. Is it necessary to connect a tv aerial to the set top box?

I am wondering whether I need to purchase an aerial before the installation date.

Re: Virgin TV Installation

No need for an external aerial. The box supplied by Virgin Media will connect to your TV via either SCART (SD) or HDMI (HD) and provide the appropriate signal.

If you wish you can connect your TV directly to an external aerial also to get FreeView channels but this is only of any value really when the cable service is down, which is not very often.

No need as you'll get your TV straight from the cable system. Can still have an aerial connected to your TV for freeview if you want.
