new kid on the block

Just joined so be gentle with me. I would like to find out if there are any cabling companies/individuals who install fiber cables but outsource the splicing/termination to others. I have recently arrived in this country and am in the process of buying a fusion splicer and OTDR and am wondering if I could be of service to anyone who, perhaps, doesnt do enough fiber installation to warrant the cost of the termination/test equipment. Twill be interesting to know. Thanks.

Re: new kid on the block

The Cable in Cable-Forum refers to the link to Cable Television rather than cables in general

Re: new kid on the block

virgin media do use outsourced fibre splicers as an emergency measure but not on a constant basis.if we have a minimal amount to splice (say when a mux is being rebuilt for whatever reason) we have a good splicing kit and enough knowledge between us to do it ourselves.
