I take it you don't have any pets?
Dogs can be pests wandering around, but I hardly think a young cat is a menace to society!

I have a dog as a matter of fact and if you had any concern for the little animals you might have noticed the large number of cats run over in your neighbourhood and if you (cat owners) had any respect for your neighbours it might be an idea to stop them from crapping all over the place.

Probably very little.
Putting things in perspective, and I have a cat and consider myself a cat lover, what has she really done?
The cat has no permanent injuries and wasn't tortured etc.
You could go down the route that it was in danger of being crushed by the bin lorry etc. but really you would be hard pushed to get a serious conviction out of this.

Re: Woman dumps Kitten in Wheelie bin Footage caught on CCTV
In this weather people have windows open and the cats will climb out them. I dont own a dog or a cat. Well the dog from next door when he is left out pays us a visit and comes in and goes up half the stairs and lies down and goes to sleep and when rested goes out again. No matter if the dogs or the cats get out and about no one has the right to abuse them

Our cat is popular with our neigbours.. he is very good natured & friendly. I've not heard about or seen any cats killed on the roads by my home.
What would you do if your dog got out and somebody stuck him/her in a bin? I'm sure you'd be unhappy!
This cat was on it's owners wall too, not like it was in the mad womans house or something.

I suspect you might be right, Derek. I don't want her locked up or anything, but she needs to be cautioned or something. what if nobody had found the cat?

I have a feeling she might have mental health issues. I hope she gets the help she needs.

You seem to be under the impression that I am in some way trying to justify this womans actions, completely ignoring

Just because you haven't seen any dead cats doesn't mean they aren't there, if you drive around town early in the morning you might see plenty as I do, I'd say that either their owners take them in or foxes carry them of and I am sure your cat is a delight to all your neighbours, especially the ones that tend their gardens of have young children playing in them.

Re: Woman dumps Kitten in Wheelie bin Footage caught on CCTV
Nothing else would explain what she done and the way she was so cool about doing it as well. The only thing that would have me thinking and I could be wrong was she did look around to see if anybody was around to see her doing it. Would someone with mental illness think about if they were being watched.

Re: Woman dumps Kitten in Wheelie bin Footage caught on CCTV
I'm more afraid of cats than say hating them. I have feed cats that strayed into the back but I wouldn't have one as I dont like when they show there claws and it freaks me out but would never be cruel to them.

Re: Woman dumps Kitten in Wheelie bin Footage caught on CCTV
Personally I find it a little cruel to keep a cat indoors. I use to keep mine in but she is SO much happier now shes let out, they are too wild to be kept indoors IMO. Im not actually keen on cats I was mithered in to getting one but Ive never understood people that bother about neighbours cats roaming around, Id rather that than mice/rats etc. Arent cats wild? I cant be bothered to read up on the history of cats but my view is they have a right to roam around, pesky cats getting in the way of cars and getting run over and calling the owners irresponsible doesnt wash with me
Anyway, on topic, she doesnt need a sentence, her punishment will be everyone living around her knowing what she has done and thats the best punishment I could wish on her, no doubt she will be wanting to move house now

Re: Woman dumps Kitten in Wheelie bin Footage caught on CCTV
Oh and just to add, I wasnt having a dig at another poster, I know many people think of cats as pests Ive just never really understood why. Im not some tree hugging sort but cats have as much right to roam around as birds that fly about IMO. You wouldnt hate birds if a bird crapped in your garden
