This "roping" into new 12 month contracts at the slightest instigation without a forewarning is yet another example of sharp practice which is impossible to prove without recording the call.

I suppose it is only a matter of time before a rolling 12 month contract is introduced thus eliminating any window when you can cancel without penalty. Expect this information to be buried very deeply in the T&C's.

Well I left them with no issues at all. Then had a horrid experience with sky and came back. Each to their own

I had no trouble ditching them either. Phoned up said I didn't want it, paid my final bill and that was that. The old stuff was never collected, still got the big silver modem in a drawer somewhere... After suffering Sky for a few years came begging at their door to take me back! It's been nearly 7 years of happy surfing and viewing... been a few niggles but nothing serious that wasn't fixed in a few days.

Virgin is the better of the two companies.

I agree mate. I personally think VM try to look out for their customers a lot better, hence so many retention packages given out etc.
